HP Officejet 4500 All In One Printer - Not Wireless Version

HP Officejet 4500
This is a personal review of my 4 in 1 Printer, the HP Officejet 4500. I run a small home type business in Milwaukee, WI. Size, cost and capabilities were of utmost importance regarding the printer purchase.
Finding a multifunction printer that scanned, copied and printed was my mine objective. This model also has an easily setup fax feature allowing you to do faxing straight from the printer thereby saving trips to the local office supply store and paying upwards to $7.00 to send faxed material.
It took longer to get the HP Officejet 4500 printer out of the box than to set it up, basically it was plug and play. The instructions given with the printer were large print and easy to not only read but understand.
I was up and running in less than 10 minutes (and that included getting a cup of coffee from the kitchen). One of the aspects that few people check out is ink usage, how much is the ink and how much can you print. This model uses the HP 901 cartridge, it is the same number for the color and black.
The color module is all colors in one cartridge and you can get a XL which is almost twice as much ink in color or black. I print invoices, sales reports, recipes, home visit reports and pictures and find that even the regular cartridge lasts approx. 2 months or longer.
The HP Officejet 4500 is fast and fairly quiet. The quality of pictures and presentations is as good as getting it done professionally. Ink costs are 14.99 for black, 19.99 for color or you can get a pack of both for $34.99. Big office supply store also run
specials saving you an additional $5 of more.
I bought this HP Officejet printer at the store during a sale and paid $49.99 two years ago, the price was marked down by $30.00. I still have not used all the different functions, the scanning is super easy. This model is also Energy Star efficient.
I also do alot of printing of labels for my business and the church. One of the features I really like is a help button that really helps and will tell you the best way to do a project. This is my 5th printer, my first 4 in 1 and it has been the best both in performance and cost efficiency.
One thing I really like about the HP Officejet 4500 is if you have the printer on and leave the room it automatically goes into a power save mode. Size is smaller than alot of other models, approx. 12 inches deep, 16-1/2 inches across and 7-1/2 inches at the highest point.
It is black hard plastic so easy to keep clean and the glass of the scanner is protected by a lid. It is also Ethernet capable. And let me add that unlike other machines a child could put the ink cartridge in, something you don't find too often.
If you are looking for a good printer, scanner, copier and fax machine this is it. AND....unlike so many things today it actually comes with a PRINTED MANUAL! In English and 3 other languages.
There is also a Wireless model of this HP Officejet 4500 printer. Can't say enough about this printer, right now it has lasted longer than any I have purchased in the past. (Read a more in-depth overview of the HP Officejet 4500
