HP Deskjet 1000 Color Printer

HP Deskjet 1000
When my old printer kicked the bucket I knew that I needed to find a cheap replacement printer as soon as possible. As a full time school student I knew that I couldn’t be printer less for very long. I searched several stores online and came across Walmart.com and their impressive printer section. I saw the HP Deskjet 1000 and for the price of $29.00 I just couldn’t pass noticing it.
I read the reviews, looked at the product information, and researched similar products. I looked for the same printer among other online stores and found that Walmart.com had the lowest price. In the end I decided that I liked the Wal-Mart price and what seemed like the simplicity of the HP Deskjet 1000.
I noticed that Walmart.com said that the particular item I was looking at was indeed in stock in the store closest to me. I called to make sure that the printer was in fact at that store. That same day I went up to Wal-Mart and bought the printer for $29.00. I also had to buy printer/copier paper, which was fairly inexpensive; I believe it was around $3.50 for a pack of 500 sheets.
The HP Deskjet 1000 printer did not come with the ink so I did have to buy two separate ink cartridges, one black and one color, for a total of around $30.00. Setting up the printer itself was a snap, except for the fact that I didn’t have a printer cable and I had forgotten to buy
The next day I went back to Wal-Mart and bought the printer cable then proceeded home and finished the set up. At first I couldn’t figure out how to get the ink cartridges in, so I re-read the very simple instructions and got it working.
Installing the paper was a bit difficult at first because you have to put a little bit of paper in at a time, not a huge stack all at once. After I installed the CD that came with the printer I was able to download the program and drivers needed to run the printer. I ran a test page and low and behold it worked! This printer has very basic functions; it just prints. No extra bells and whistles, no scanners, copiers, or anything of that nature.
I love that because I am not a very technologically inclined person and this HP Deskjet 1000 is super easy for me to use. I think that the print quality is superb and for me it prints fast. I have only used this product for a little over two months so I am not sure about the ink usage.
I really have not printed too many pages as of yet. So far according to my printer program that is installed on my computer I have used very little ink. This is also an energy star appliance which is nice for my electricity bill. All in all this cheap little HP printer does what it is intended to do and that is to print.
